Chevrolet Camaro Pony Car
Introduced by General Motors
Chevrolet
introduced its line of pony cars at the North American Chevrolet motor
division. The first Camaro was introduced in September 1966. This model was a
competing model for Ford Mustang. Before its production ended in 2002, there
were four generations.
First Generation
The First
generation car was introduced in September 1966. It was available in 2 doors,
2+2 seating coupe or convertible versions. The Camaro was a conventional rare
drive and had a powerful front seat configuration.
Second generation
Was
introduced into the market in February 1970. This was larger and wider and had
new styling features. It was based on F body platform. The performance of this
car was high when compared to the old version.
Third generation
A third
generation car was introduced into the market in the year 1982. In 1982 during
20th anniversary Camaro produced Commemorative Edition. In 1992 during its 25th
anniversary Camaro produced the Heritage Edition. These Editions had fuel
injection and four speed automatic Turbo Hydramatic trannys. They were
available in four speed auto and five speed manual transmissions.
Fourth Generation
This model was introduced in 1993. It was updated on F body platform.
This model was changed in its appearance and engine features others were same
as the old models only.
Fifth Generation
This was
their final model and it was introduced in January 2006. It had a 400hp LS2 V8 engine and was equipped with
a T56 six speed manual transmission.
Among all these models the third generation models were the most popular
